FAQ
What are the contents of the Simple Missal?
Unlike other missals that overwhelm the reader with collects, prefaces, and meditations (all of which are beneficial and important) the Simple Missal focuses on the parts of the Mass that are most used by parishioners. This includes the:
- Entrance Antiphon
- 1st Reading
- Responsorial Psalm
- 2nd Reading
- Gospel
- Communion Antiphon
Does the Simple Missal include the entirety of each reading for each day?
While some missals only include the antiphons and brief summaries of the readings for weekday masses, the Simple Missal includes every antiphon and every reading for everyday of the week. That's right. There's not a day where you won't find the full Liturgy of the Word.
The Simple Missal also features common prayers within the Mass and those used for adoration:
- The Gloria
- The Nicene Creed
- Sanctus
- Agnus Dei
- Mortem Tuam
- O Saving Victim
- O Salutaris Hostia
- Down in Adoration Falling
- Tantum Ergo
Are any musical scores included in the Simple Missal?
In an effort to keep the Simple Missal as simple as possible, there are no musical scores included in the missal.
We do, however, include the lyrics to hymns commonly used for Exposition and Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament.
How many months does each edition of the missal cover?
Instead of having to replace your missals every 3 or 4 months, the Simple Missal covers a 6-month time frame, published twice a year.
- August 1st - January 31st
- February 1st - July 31st
Since we do not lock parishes into long-term contracts, each edition of the Simple Missal has to be ordered separately. In the future, we hope to implement a optional subscription feature.
I live in the middle of nowhere. How much will I pay for shipping?
Whether you live in downtown Chicago or the middle of nowhere Montana, shipping is always free.
Is the Simple Missal available outside of the United States?
Currently, the Simple Missal is only available in the United States.
